Effects of the American Revolution
The American Revolution was a struggle for the United States to earn its independence and freedom from the control of the British. The American Revolution gave hope to the American people that the United States would become a prosperous country. The country would now be independent and govern itself, which was the intention from the start of the Revolution.
The country would now create their own government. The colonists would no longer need to pay outrageous taxes to the British, therefore giving people more money to support their families. Before the war, colonists were barely getting by and people starved from the inability to buy food. After the war, families were able to spend the money saved from not paying British taxes and were able to supply themselves with plenty of food. Ships were now able to leave port in Boston to export goods to other countries which helped the economy. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights were created and passed by Congress, giving Americans the freedom and independence that the country still enjoys today.
